The design of a new sports field, including drainage and irrigation, as well as rehabilitation of illegal sand mining and dump site.

This project came about as a result of the illegal dumping and sand mining that took place on the premises that had to be rehabilitated. In the process there was a new sports field constructed, now the property of Strandfontein Secondary School, where the scholars of the school can now practice and develop their sporting skills.

The sports field is now irrigated from a newly constructed borehole and requires no addition topping up from municipal supply. The borehole has such a strong yield that it is now being used to supply water to all the ablution facilities which reduces demand on the municipal supply.
